Health:

At 3Months July 2005 he got a convulsion and we rushed him to Mother and Child hospital, they did insertion of tubes in his mouth as well as nose to remove saliva which was blocking him to breath well, then after 3-4hrs he got another convulsion and we rushed him to Gertrude's Hospital.

He was admitted for 3 days and the doctor noted he had low calcium and he was developing Rickets, he was put on Calcimax and Alpha D3 drops for 3 months.

During follow up within the hospital on August 2005 Dr. Choskey Ophthalmologist in Agha Khan noted he had congenital cataract on his both eyes.

The 1st operation was done on April 2006 on his left eye and he was put a lens, the other one was done after within six months on the right eye but the lens was not put.

He was put on several eye drops, Atropine was worse to his health he could get fever most of the time and he was always on antibiotics e.g. Amoxil, Zinnat, Duracef, Augmentin etc. which was making his health deteriorate, his weight was low depending with his age.

Due his calcium level, he had a delayed walking and other things children would do within 1 year he could not do , the pediatrician Dr. Wafula noted he had a delayed milestone, sitting down, walking, speech.

He had several sessions for speech therapy at Gertrude's Hospital but he didn't improve at 2years.

During this time the doctor noted he is hyperactive and we took him for O.T (Occupational Therapy) at Kenyatta National Hospital for several months, he had a problem with swing machine and big object he could get flighted by them a sign of ADHD Child, he could sometimes be in his own world like an Austist child but doctor said he is not , after several sessions they realized he might be having a hearing problem due to his speech delay by then he was 3 years.

We took him for hearing aid radiology to check how far he could hear, he was OK with the hearing. We also went to see a psychiatrist to see if his concentration is OK and if he has normal thinking capability all was ruled ok.
